The Custom Orthotic Process

Getting custom orthotics at Brighton Foot & Ankle is a straightforward process. Dr. Castelein begins by evaluating your feet, gait, and the condition being treated. He then casts your feet in a fiberglass mold while placing your foot in its neutral position to best capture the contours of your feet. The casts are sent to an independent orthotic lab where they are manufactured to accommodate your exact foot structure. Once we receive the orthotics they are professionally fitted by our trained medical assistants. Dr. Castelein follows up with you three weeks later to make any adjustments needed.
